^not all of these are me, but I didn't have all of me.^
What I want is
Enough skills
To swim what I want
What I want is
To swim a mile
And another
Quicker and stronger
With the warm sun
On my back
And my legs
Breathing with the rhythm
Of the swim strokes
In the pool
In the water
Smell of summer
On the warm water
As I relax
My legs
My arms
My feet
My heart
Lap one, lap two
Messy Room:
Whosever room this is should be ashamed
Her pants are hanging on the fan.
Her coat is there on the table,
And the table is looking like a luggage van.
Her school book is thrown about,
Her sweatshirt has been thrown on the door
Her glasses and dirty clothes aren’t in the dresser
And her pants are thrown about the floor
Shirts and odds and ends jammed through the closet
Her TV left on yelling through the roof
A dog named KC, running about
And smelly old socks leave the proof
Whosever room this is should be ashamed!
Mom or Dad or Kaeanna or—
Huh? You say it’s mine? Oh no,
I knew it looked familiar
Loyalty Song:
The day is now gone Atlantic High
We’ll forever be on Atlantic High
We’ll be back to stand, only to shake a hand,
For we know we will miss you Atlantic High – rah! Rah!
So break the ice Atlantic high – I will return Atlantic High
I am your famed graduate,
On we go, for we expect a farewell from you Atlantic High
G-O-O-D-B-Y-E Good bye!
Emily Dickinson:
A monkey came to town
To take an easy stroll;
He bit a soft banana and
He ate the big fruit, whole.
And then he drank the water
From a handy fountain,
And then ran to gain momentum
To run up a mountain.
The Fog:
The racecar crawls
On big lion legs
It stops to look
Over the track and cars
On loud motors
And then comes alive
My lost paragraph: Panic. Regret. I wish I had simply taken a couple extra seconds to calm down and put my keys were they go. But now, I'm in a pickle. Oh what to do? They aren't in my ignition, they aren't in my purse, and they definitely aren't in my hand. I can't have my mom rescue me again. I’m pretty sure the keys she brought me last time- I never put them back. Those keys are probably lost too. What am I going to do? I think I will retrace my steps. Back into the bank I go. Looking frantically on the floor, up the walls, under the rugs. No sign of my lost gems. To my work area, back in the corner, where I was in a rush and threw them, are shiny keys like pearls in the bottom of the blue sea. Sigh. Joy. Relief.
The crossing:
Time flies when you’re having fun
I will never forget that day at the lake
Meeting new friends, catching up with old
That day at the lake will never be forgot
When the sun is bright, the wake is full
Showing off is everyone’s passion
Adventures are for friends to experience together
Able to show off without feeling bad
Courage to ride that wave,
Just don’t get hurt
Wear your sunscreen too,
One thing I forgot, I did get hurt
Revealing new unharmed skin,
My face began to peel
My back soon followed
My face was so much worse
Fun was had by all,
That day at the lake will never be forgot.
Tabby and I's iambic pentameter:
I am a pirate with a wooden leg
My parrot likes to eat my salty food
One day while I was sailing the big blue
My day started to just go all to shit
My beloved parrot flew overboard
A big storm came in and I peed my pants
My vessel began to leak, just like me
I shouted “Argh,” just to wake up a matey
I tell my mate to fix the leak downstairs
He left and brought back a bucket of suds
“Argh, not on me matte. I meant the boat.”
I jumped on a tube and began to search
My parrot couldn’t have gotten to far
My stomach began to grumble loudly
I went back to me vessel for some food
And my mate thought I was a bad pirate
Because his eye patch was on the wrong side
Thankfully, he shot just my wooden leg
I cried for mercy only to look up
And see my polly parrot in the sky
